B1c Staying Healthy

You need to be able to:

  • Explain how infectious diseases are spread including examples (pathogens, parasite, host, malaria, vectors, how symptoms are caused, contolling the spread)
  • Explain and evaluate immunisation (passive, active, action of antibodies, benefits and risks)
  • Describe the use of antibiotics and anti viral drugs, and explain how new drugs are tested
