B2h Sustainability

You need to be able to:
  • Evaluate a conservation programme (why it is needed, why the species is at risk of extinction, what th programme does, is it successful?)
  • Use whales as a case study species (why they are close to extinction, the value of living and dead whales, aspects of whale biology that are not fully understood, issues around whaling)
  • Describe sustainable development using fish stocks and woodland as examples (what it is, importance of population size, waste products, food & energy, requirement of planning & cooperation, how it can protect endangered species)

  1. A level ladder from another school, can you do the A* tasks?
  2. Endangered species information from Colchester Zoo
  3. Whalesongs website...
